Looking at the Pac-12 ratings obviously USC is rated the best (99) with Matt Barkley returning for his senior season and coming off a one loss season a year ago. Oregon is still up there at 99 but have some questions at their skill positions and that may have affected their offensive rating just a bit. The next best team is a surprise with Utah being rated as a 95, didn’t see that one coming. With the loss of Andrew Luck, Stanford was still rated as a 93 and Washington earned the same rating. Other than that no other Pac-12 team is rated above 90 (Ariz. 83, ASU 85, Cal 85, Colorado 83, Ore St. 79, UCLA 87, Wash St. 79).

The thing that stands out to me the most is that Texas is rated as 99 and they are ranked alongside teams such as LSU, Oregon, Wisconsin and USC. I’m sorry but that is a load of crap.

There is no way that UT should be rated higher than Alabama (97), Oklahoma (97) or even Michigan (97). They have a good recruiting class coming in but I’m not sure how EA drummed up a 99 rating for a team coming off an 8-5 season.

Another head scratching rating is Notre Dame at 97. They had an ok season last year finishing 8-5 but, like Texas, not good enough to earn such a high rating in this year’s game.

This is just a video game and these ratings don’t really mean much but some people put a lot of stock into them and it’s something that they can brag to their friends about. In the end it doesn’t really matter because the game is played on the actual field and not the virtual one but it’s fun sometimes to look at these ratings.
