Tyrann Mathieu of LSU has no love for Alabama.  That was obvious Monday as the cornerback got into a little bit of a Twitter spat with Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron.  The two went back and forth for a couple of Tweets, talking about national titles.

Personally, I love seeing stuff like this.  The rivalry is intense between the two schools, especially after Alabama won the National Title against LSU.  In that game, McCarron had an admirable performance against Tyrann Mathieu and the LSU defense.  Bama dominated the entire game, even though LSU beat them in the regular season.

I can’t imagine that the coaches are extremely happy with this, however.  This might lead to something down the line that could be bad.   At least a little bit more juice has been added to the rivalry.  Look for Tyrann Mathieu to try to pick off a McCarron pass or two.  These two don’t like each other and I can’t wait to see it play out.

As long as everything stays clean between the two teams, this is not that big of a deal.  If a cheap hit gets thrown, then we have some issues.  It is a rivalry, but there is no reason to let it become ugly.  I hope this propels the two teams to play with greater fire.  Some people thought the two games were ugly, but watching defense and hits like that are what make football great.
