With the smell of football in the air, what a better time than now to take a look at five players I think fans should be paying attention to in the state of Wisconsin. I picked five seniors who I think will have a great season and the list is in no particular order.
WR Jazz Peavy- Kenosha Tremper Peavy is a speedy wide receiver (4.5 40 yard dash) who was the top performer at Chicago’s SPARQ combine with a rating of 122.52. Peavy is already off to a great start as he scored three touchdowns in a scrimmage last week.
TE Dylan Chmura-Waukesha West Chmura, son of former Green Bay Packers tight end Mark Chmura, is a 6-foot-6 tight end who looks to bounce back after missing last year with a torn ACL. And he’s looking to step out of the shadows of his dad.
OL Hayden Biegel-Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln The 6’7″, 250 pound tackle will be the anchor to last year’s state runner-up to making it back to Madison again this year.
DE Chikwe Obasih-Brookfield Central Obasih is a speedy and athletic defensive end who is a 4-star athlete and is by far the top player in the state. The talented defensive end can run a sub 5 second 40 yard dash (4.97 seconds) and will wreak havoc on quarterbacks this year.
DE Alec James-Brookfield East Across the city of Brookfield is another stellar defensive end in James. I rank him right behind Jazz Peavy in the state and James looks to improve on his 13 sack campaign from a year ago.
I’m excited to see how well these five players perform in their last year of high school football. All are talented in their respective positions and some of the top players in all of Wisconsin.
Agree or disagree with my list? Let me know who you think your top five seniors would be this year.
