Devon Walker has Confirmed Broken Neck

Doctor’s at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa has confirmed that Tulane Green Wave‘s Devon Walker has suffered a broken neck and a collapsed lung following the horrific collision with teammate Julius Warmsley.

The injury appears to be between the first and second vertebrae on the upper spine, according to reports.

Walker was injured trying to tackle Tulsa Golden Hurricanes’ Willie Carter when he collided with Warmsley. Walker stopped breathing but was revived on the field and a tracheotomy was performed immediately before he was transported to the hospital.

Walker is currently listed in stable condition.

The injury, which occurred on the last play of the first half, left the home Tulsa crowd stunned. Coaches and players were visibly shaken and a prayer was led at the stadium while Walker was down and being cared for by medical personnel.

Rant Sports will continue to update the status of Walker and his progress.
