UCLA Receives Commitment From OT Kenny Lacy

By Jake Boyle

At around 8:30 Monday morning, Mountain Pointe (Az.) High School offensive tackle Kenny Lacy declared via twitter, “I HAVE OFFICIALLY COMMITTED TO UCLA ON A FULL RIDE FOOTBALL SCHOLARSHIP!! BEYOND BLESSED & I THANK EVERYONE WHO HAS HELPED ME THUS FAR!! [sic.]”  The 6-5, 260 pound Lacy turned down offers from Arkansas, Nebraska, California and Oklahoma, amongst other top programs, to play for UCLA.
According to ESPN, Lacy is an explosive run blocker with long arms to assist his pass protection.  Although he may need to bulk up and improve his hands, Lacy will probably be able to contribute to UCLA after a red shirt year.

The Bruins have been actively recruiting to improve their offensive line with their 2013 recruiting class.  Lacy joins Lutheran (Ca.) High offensive guard John Lopez, Mission Viejo (Ca.) High offensive tackle Erik Bunte, Fallbrook Union (Ca.) High School tackle Sean Dowling and East (Tn.) High School tackle Christian Morris as UCLA’s offensive line recruits.

UCLA, who went into this past weekend ranked #22, defeated #16 Nebraska 36-30 on Saturday to improve to 2-0 this season.  They host unranked Houston on Saturday night.
