TCU Quarterback Casey Pachall Arrested Wednesday Night In Fort Worth

The starting QB for Texas Christian University, Casey Pachall was arrested late Wednesday night near campus for driving while intoxicated. According to police, he was originally pulled over for running a stop sign and when Fort Worth P.D. flashed their lights at him to pull him over, he ran into the curb.

His truck, a 2006 Dodge Ram was impounded. He has already posted bond and been released from jail, but I can’t imagine the wrath his is about to face with Horned Frog head coach Gary Patterson is going to be much different. Patterson has already given Pachall a second chance, so this could be the last straw.

TCU’s issues came to surface last February when several players were arrested in a campus-wide drug bust. One of those players was Casey Pascall’s roommate, Tanner Brock. After the bust, Pachall admitted to drug use and was allowed to stay on the team when Patterson made the decision to punish him in-house. The rest of the players were dismissed from the team.

This couldn’t come at a worse time to the Horned Frogs program, not only did they deal with the drug bust earlier in the year, they are in their first year in a new conference, and losing their starting QB mid-season isn’t exactly the news they needed. Their star running back was declared out for the season several weeks ago due to a knee injury. For a team who wanted to make an instant impact in the Big XII, they may have gone about it the wrong way.

TCU is set to face the Iowa State Cyclones this Saturday in Fort Worth. At the time of the article, no word has been given on Pachall’s status.

UPDATE: In a release by the University, Pacall has been suspended indefinitely.
