Top 6 College Football Games to Watch Saturday
4 of Top 5 Teams Playing Ranked Opponents Saturday
This weekend in college football has been circled on my calendar before the season even started and is full of rivalry games, out of conference action between top eight teams, and a conference battle among undefeated teams.
Last week’s top games in my estimation did not live up to the billing when Florida whooped up on South Carolina and Kansas State and Collin Klein showed West Virginia and Geno Smith who the real Heisman front-runner should be.
This week’s slate of games may feature a blowout or two, but hopefully for the college viewers like you and me will be tantalized and enthralled with the actual play on the field and not just captivated by the pregame histrionics and soap opera-like storylines.
The SEC has prominently been featured in this column for the past few weeks and quite frankly that should not come as a surprise to anyone with the number of elite teams in that conference. This week will feature two SEC matchups including an SEC east game that could see a team clinch their division and another that is guaranteed of seeing one 7-0 team pick up their first loss of the season.
Outside of the nation’s best conference is a game pitting two Big 12 quarterbacks that are coming off a seven touchdown performance in their team’s wins over ranked opponents, a game with an undefeated team going on the road where their elite defense will face its stiffest test against an offense that has scored 119 points in the last two games, and for the first time all season a team from the Big East and Mid-American Conference make an appearance in the top games of the weekend list.
