South Carolina RB Marcus Lattimore Suffers A Horrific Leg Injury
South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore is one of the best players in all of college football. After recovering from a knee injury that cut his season short last year, Lattimore was having a nice bounce-back season for the Gamecocks this year. Until now…
In the second quarter of their game today against the University of Tennessee, Lattimore’s knee/leg exploded from a clean hit by a UT defender. Unfortunately for Lattimore, the helmet of the defensive player hit his leg with precision, causing the severe trauma you will see here.
Just vicious. I wasn’t paying much attention to the game as it happened live, but as soon as I heard the announcer say “you might want to look away”, I obviously wanted to look more. My reaction was probably the same as many, by uttering the ever-so-popular phrase that starts with the word “holy”.
You have to feel bad for Lattimore, especially after going through the same situation last season. However, this isn’t the end of the road for the talented running back. Granted, it’s pretty obvious we have seen the last of him this season, but players have rebounded from horrific knee injuries before — i.e. Willis McGahee.
It will be interesting to see how South Carolina will rebound the rest of the way, but they probably were looking at the Outback Bowl as is.
Best wishes, Marcus. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
