Woody's Log Week 10 - ACC Football Winners ATS - The Miami Hurricanes Live

Open
Steve Mitchell-US PRESSWIRE

So How about that exciting Miami Hurricanes big win at home against the Virginia Tech Hokies on Thursday night on ESPN!

(crickets)

Come on folks…

It was very entertaining watching Logan Thomas play QB for both his Hokies and the Hurricanes…

And it was a do or die game to stay alive in the race for the ACC Coastal Division Title

To which the Hokies died a terrible death to pretty much seal the deal on a disappointing and underachieving 2012 season.

The interesting fact to watch the rest of the season is the status of Hokies Head Coach Frank Beamer.

Beamer was asked at the beginning of the season how much longer he would coach and he was pretty clear about his timeline.

”As long as I have a star quarterback I will be coaching…” Beamer laughed and joked during the first ACC Football Coaches Weekly Media Calls.

Something that was all laughs when everyone had hope for Virginia Tech at the beginning of the season…

Now something everyone should be watching as Thomas prepares to bolt for the NFL Draft leaving Beamer with very few options as a star quarterback to run the show.

There is always some drama folks…

You just gotta watch the games…

And that goes the same for the slate the ACC has on tap for Week 10.

So Ole Woody went a stellar 4-1 last week to improve to 39-24-1 on the season picking against the spread.

Needless to say, these picks for Week 10 feel like pure Gold…

So with the games just a few hours away, let’s take a look at Woody’s Log for Week 10 and hand out the ACC Football Winners Against the Spread.

So you want drama in ACC Football action…

Then look no further than the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets traveling to College Park, Maryland to face the Maryland Terrapins!

Seriously!

The Yellow Jackets are on the Paul Johnson Farewell Tour to face a Terrapins team who is on their 4th quarterback on the season who happens to be a linebacker…

Add to the fact 680 The Fan in Atlanta, Georgia, Afternoon Drive Host Chuck Oliver announced he would quit radio if the Tech lost this game to the Terps and you have karma and drama all mixed up under one big circus tent.

You can’t make this stuff up folks…

But, here is the fun fact of the game…

Maryland is ranked No. 2 in total defense and scoring defense in the ACC…

The Terps pretty much have held every team it has played in 2012 to under 20 points a game.

Shawn Petty will find a ways to win his first game as QB for the Terps because that is how it would play out in Hollywood…

Maryland wins and covers and , 24-23, and Johnson and Oliver both look for new paying gigs in Atlanta on Monday.

So if history repeats itself, this is the week the Virginia Cavaliers begin its run to perfection and bowl eligibility against the North Carolina State Wolfpack.

It is almost amazing how every year as soon as you write off the Cavaliers, they seem to find away to play like the hype of the preseason.

Add to the fact you have both Mike London and Tom O’Brien fighting for their head coaching lives this week and the drama will be high.

The Cavaliers will give the Wolfpack all it can handle for sure in a few hours…

But NC State finds a way to win, but doesn’t cover, 38-33.

There is really no reason to watch this game…

Sorry but facts are facts…

The only thing compelling is that if you love an amazing Porn Stash you can flip over and get a good look at Boston College Eagles Head Coach Frank Spaziani.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons are giving three-points at home…

Let’s take Wake to win and cover in a shootout, 41-40.

No. 13 Clemson Tigers @ Duke Blue Devils (+12)

ESPN 2 – 7 p.m.

#CLEMvsDUKE

There is actually a lot on the line on paper as the 13th-ranked Clemson Tigers travel to Durham, North Carolina, to face the ACC Coastal Leaders in the Duke Blue Devils.

Seriously!

Duke needs to prove to the nation it is worthy of the great season it has had to this point…

Clemson needs to keep pace with the 9th-ranked Florida State Seminoles in the Atlantic Division

Something will give, though, in a big way tonight…

The Tigers have just way too many athletes and are only giving 12-points.

Clemson wins going away in this game and covers, 52-21.
