So after a pair of less than stellar ESPN Thursday Night ACC Football Games, is the third time the charm?

Let’s hope not…

You heard that correctly…

Normally you find the love and the adoration for all things ACC Football here as a champion of the conference in trying to build the national brand and bring respect back to fans of the other conference in the south that does not have the letters SEC in it.

But today is a different day…

It’s simply time to watch out for the best interests of the conference as a whole instead of having a stellar competitive game…

Look folks, the Virginia Tech Hokies have had their chance this season to salvage something but it hasn’t…

And it better as heck not try to night at home in Blacksburg, Virginia, against the 10th-ranked Florida State Seminoles

Who cares if this was one of the Top 12 Games of 2012 from the preseason…

It is simply more important and crucial for the ‘Noles and the 13th-ranked Clemson Tigers’ BCS Rankings than an overtime, nail biter tonight.

But, if you go by the numbers, things are not looking optimistic for FSU…

The Seminoles are 7-5 all-time in Thursday night games including a 1-0 record at home and a 6-5 mark on the road.

The Hokies are an amazing 19-6 on Thursdays with an almost unbeatable 11-3 mark on the road and an impressive 8-3 record on the road. Tech had won its last four Thursday night games by an average of 8.5 points before losing to the Miami Hurricanes last week on the road.

To make matters worse, both teams have been horrible Against the Spread as well…

The ‘Noles are 2-4 in their last six games, while the Hokies are 2-8-1 in their last 11.

(face palm)

And with all that the Seminoles are giving 13.5…

But, in sticking with the theme, FSU has had a week to prepare and has way too many weapons for this Tech team.

The Seminoles are challenged early, but run away and hide late, 48-20.
