College Football Rumors: Is Chris Petersen Eyeing A Jump To The SEC?

Chris Petersen has been insanely great for Boise State but that has not stopped college football rumors from popping up about him almost every season. The latest rumor is very intriguing, as it has Arkansas putting the full court press on the coach.

Some of these rumors even have a deal almost done.  I wouldn’t go that far, but let’s examine how this matches up.  First, Arkansas needs to hit a home run hire to wash the taste of this season out of their mouths.  It looked like it could be a great year before Bobby Petrino had to go off and do Petrino things.  Anyways, Petersen could certainly right the ship quickly.

Petersen has always said that he is comfortable in Boise, but you never know how things can change.  Maybe the right job has not opened for him.  Getting a great job like this with plenty of money coming in would be a perfect time to jump ship if he does.  He has pretty much accomplished everything that he can at Boise so it would be a good time to leave as well.

Of course, most Internet rumors need to be taken with a grain of salt.  In this case, I am going to prescribe a giant bottle of it.  Not a lot of it makes sense.  I do believe that Petersen is content with his Boise squad and his family is well settled into the area.  Why leave that?

Rumors like this are going to keep popping up, which means it’s going to be a fun ride for college football fans.
