University of Arkansas Reportedly interested in Les Miles
According to Jim Kleinpeter of New Orleans Times-Picayune, LSU football coach Les Miles has received an offer of 5yr/27.5 million to leave and coach Arkansas, that’s what I call backing up the Brinks truck for a guy. That’d be a stiff price for LSU to keep Miles loyal.
I think if this were to go through, this could shift the balance of power in the SEC out of bayou country within two seasons. Although that’d also mean a huge coach vacancy would open up and most coaches in the country will be sending resumes in to take over this powerhouse team.
That all being said, this could all be huge bluff from Razorback nation, however I doubt it since they currently do not have a coach as John L. Smith was fired over the weekend, and in college football, colleges and universities will pull any and all stops to get a winner even if it’s luring a conference rival away as it means more money for their school in the long run, but this is just my take on a developing story, what do you all think? Let me know!
