ACC Championship: Don’t Sell the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Short

Sam Sharpe-US PRESSWIRE

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. No. 13 Florida State Seminoles (-13)
ESPN – 8 p.m.

So it all comes down to this…

Not exactly how ACC Commissioner John Swofford had it played out in his mind…

But it’s still the ACC Championship right!?

Well…

Tickets are still available for $4.50…

That’s not $450…

That’s the SEC Title Game

$4.50…

You can even get a lunch combo anywhere for $4.50…

And reports are that the ACC was giving away Nickleback CD’s and Championship Game Tickets in Charolette, North Carolina this morning and actually gave away more Nickleback CD’s than seats…

What is this world coming too…

Even though the ACC Title Game did come down to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and the 13th-ranked Florida State Seminoles there still is some compelling football to be played.

The Seminoles are still a great team and have had a great season…

And despite the fact the ‘Noles are a 13-point favorite, don’t count out the Yellow Jackets just yet.

It is obvious that Tech has finally put things together against ACC caliber opponents down the stretch.

The Jackets did hang 68 on the North Carolina Tar Heels, who in essence was the best team overall in the Coastal Division.

The Georgia Tech defense has played better (yes, that is a relative statement considering how bad it was to start the season) and the offense was clicking on all cylinders.

Add to the mix the let down FSU is feeling since losing to its hated rival last week.

In the span of four hours, the Seminoles lost a chance at a high BCS Ranking and destroyed any credibility the ACC had left in the College Football world.

That’s a lot of depression to bounce back from.

And Tech has learned how to live with its depressing short comings already.

And FSU has not faced any team all season long that runs the option type offense the Jackets do.

So do the Yellow Jackets have a chance…

Absolutely!

But it will take a perfect effort especially since their leading rusher in senior RB Orwin Smith will not play.

This should be a fun game to watch with a lot of offense…

Florida State will win, but will not cover, 51-43.
