It’s a fact…

Your day just gets better when you get the opportunity to use the word “SWAG“…

Just say it out loud one time…

(waiting)

Now don’t you feel like you just gained about a million points in your Street Cred Jar!

Well with all of the BCS Rankings played out and BCS Bowls announced it is now time to focus on the most important part of Bowl Season

That’s right!

It’s time to see which bowl is handing out the best SWAG this year…

In case you did not know, up to 125 players from each team receives gifts totaling up to but to not exceed $550.

This is a practice that has gone on for quite some time and one that has become one of the biggest thrills for players and team VIPs especially over the past five years as the sponsorship of Bowl Games have exploded.

Back in the 1990s it was a lot of great clothes with the Bowl Logo and something like a video game system or walkman (kids… you can Google walkman).

Today, it’s high end watches, iPads, flat screens and gift cards.

But the thing that has taken off like wildfire are the Gift Suites.

Yes, players, coaches and VIPs are allowed to go in and pick out whatever they want up to that dollar amount.

This was a concept created by Jon Cooperstein and his company Performance Award Center.

It was launched at the 2008 Orange Bowl and has grown and gotten bigger each and every year.

Even though those of you who are Amateurism Purist out there might be screaming foul, this is actually a great thing as it gives some players the ability to give a gift to a parent or grandparent they may never could have afforded.

The Sports Business Journal covered this in detail this week and broke down a list of who has the best goodies.

So what is your team going to get or if you are a VIP heading with your team what can you look forward too?
