Twas the Day Before Christmas, BCS College Football Version

Twas the Day Before Christmas and all through the land,
A lot of College Football Fans were still up in arms over this BCS Plan.
The final rankings left a few teams hung out to dry,
But none more than the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs who just had to cry.

A few Bowl Games have been played and all the rest are set,
Leaving only visions of Gift Suites to see what the players might get.
And Brian Kelly in his leprechaun suit and Nick Saban in his Houndstooth Cap,
Are both still planning because of this crazy 40-day Gap

The powers that be have responded to the fans chatter,
And have devised a Plus-One Playoff to hopefully settle the matter.
But everyone sees through this plan as it’s only about the cash,
Which makes us all just want to throw up this trash.

There has to be a better way to keep the best teams in the show,
Instead of punishing them to a Non-BCS Bowl.
When to our weary eyes will this appear,
A system that allows eight or 12 teams to cheer.

Wouldn’t it be grand to see this happen quick,
To create a buzz this time of year instead of feeling sick.
There would be no need for a break and something so new,
Just think of how much fun this would be too!

Now Georgia, now Oklahoma, now Clemson and LSU,
On Florida, Bama, Kansas State and Notre Dame too!
Even Florida State, Stanford, Oregon and Texas A&M,
Could get the chance to play for that Crystal Gem.

So this Christmas let us all challenge the NCAA to get back to work,
And give us the fans something besides this Plus-One quirk.
The game is grand and it deserves so much more,
Than the current Bowl Games that are such a bore.

So with that this rant is over as soon as it came,
Let’s just hope we can do something to fix this great game.
And with that, let’s get ready for excitement of the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl fight,
Merry Christmas to all and to all a blessed night!
