Game Of Redemption In Capital One Bowl

Daniel Shirey-USA TODAY Sports

There are some college football teams that I’m sure felt snubbed in where they were playing their bowl game. There will be one of those teams in the Capital One Bowl on New Year’s Day as the 11-2 Georgia Bulldogs face the 10-3 Nebraska Cornhuskers at 1 p.m. Eastern in Orlando. Georgia was within a minute of playing for the national championship and will want to get revenge.

These two teams can run up a ton of offense with both averaging over 35 points per game. Georgia though can run the ball which is the biggest weakness for Nebraska. If the Bulldogs can rush for over 200 yards, they will win this game very easily. Nebraska can’t allow a big rushing day to happen to them again like they did in the Big Ten Championship game and must keep possession of the ball themselves for long periods of time. The Georgia offense is just too good for Nebraska to give them extra chances.

Both of these teams want redemption for different things and will be up for this game. I see Georgia jumping all over Nebraska in the early going however and that will likely end any chances for the Cornhuskers in this game. I’ll take Georgia 45-30 to get win No. 12 for the season. It should be a game that features a ton of points, which is exciting for fans in the stadium and at home. Georgia is just too talented and will want to atone for being five yards short of the national championship game.
