BCS Championship Will Be One Point Game
It has all come down to one game in college football this bowl season with the BCS Championship Game on Jan. 7 between the 12-0 Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the 12-1 Alabama Crimson Tide at 8:30 p.m. Eastern in Miami. This is going to be a great defensive showdown with the top two defenses in college football meeting one another. I think though that one factor will outweigh everything else in this game.
Alabama is in their third title game in the last four years and you can’t discount that experience of waiting over a month between games and the preparation for that. Notre Dame hasn’t been in this position in a long time and hasn’t won a national title in 24 years which means there will be a ton of pressure on this Fighting Irish team from the alumni and the fans. Alabama has had their struggles late in the season and almost didn’t make it to this game but Notre Dame has been going by the skin of their teeth too many times as well.
I don’t see either one of these teams getting to 20 points in this game. There is just too much defense from both teams to allow this game to be high-scoring. It won’t be pretty to watch if you like offense but it will be a tight game. In the end, I think the experience of Alabama will carry them to victory. I’ll go with Alabama 17-16 to win the national championship. This could be one of the most entertaining BCS title games in a while if you love a solid defensive showdown.
