Tajh Boyd Will Return to Clemson Tigers For Senior Season

Joshua S. Kelly-USA TODAY Sports

Tajh Boyd is one of the most electrifying players in college football. Boyd could probably be a second round pick in the NFL Draft but he feels like he has some unfinished business to take care of with the Clemson Tigers. He will be back for his final season.

Some people will disagree with this move, but I think he is making the right call.  A good senior year will certainly bump up his draft stock to the first round.  Although this is a weak year for QBs, I don’t think he would be ready to be one of the top guys to get picked.  Another year of seasoning might just do the trick.

This makes Clemson a not so fun team to play next year.  They are getting closer to making a breakthrough and Boyd might just be able to make that happen in 2013.  This team ended the year on a strong note, which doesn’t really mean a whole lot.  However, confidence is a fickle thing.  If Clemson can ride high off a big bowl win, they might just start to think they are national title contenders.

Things could go wrong for Boyd, but I think he wants to win a BCS bowl while he’s in school.  He’s putting off the money to end his college career on one final high note.  I find nothing wrong with that.
