Robert Nkemdiche to Visit Florida This Weekend

Robert Nkemdiche

Robert Nkemdiche, arguably the nation’s top overall high school football prospect will now be taking a visit to the campus of the Florida Gators down in Gainesville according to 247sports.com.

The visit comes as somewhat of a surprise, as the LSU Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels had emerged as possible choices.

The massive 6’5″ defensive end had previously committed to the Clemson Tigers until this past November. Rumors about where he’ll end up have been rampant, but he’ll be heading to see the Florida campus for now. The question is, how serious could this visit end up being?

It’s hard to say. His mother is still emphatic that he go and play with his brother Denzel Nkemdiche for Ole Miss. Denzel led the Rebs’ defense in tackles in this his redshirt freshman year.

But regardless of how well Florida impresses Robert Nkemdiche, LSU is going to be waiting right around the corner ready to “out-woo” his Gators’ experience. Hugh Freeze had previously gotten Denzel to decommit from the Auburn Tigers, so you know he’ll be ready. The bottom line is that this may come down to who he likes on national signing day, because the pressure is going to be coming at him from all angles.

But it will be interesting to see where things stand with Florida after this weekend. The only thing that we may know for certain is that they’re out of the running if he’s unimpressed.

Is it possible that ESPN may encourage him to not make a decision until national signing day so that it can be a televised event? Just the opinion of the author, but I believe that’s exactly what will happen.
