USC Trojans Making Huge Recruiting Blunders

US PRESSWIRE- Kirby Lee

USC lost its fifth commitment of the 2013 when Kylie Fitts de-committed from the Trojans. Fitts was informed that USC didn’t have an extra spot for him to enroll early in the Spring, which he had been planning on.

“Something happened recently that questioned my trust in USC, so I’m reopening my recruitment,” Fitts said. “It literally broke my heart. I broke down and cried. It was so hard for me and my family. It’s just what’s best for me at this moment. I’m putting in God’s hands and trusting that everything will work out.”

Fitts committed to USC last April after which he said to Scout.com, “I’m a Trojan, that’s where my heart is and there is no way I’ll go anywhere else.”

USC was foolish to spring this news on Fitts, and they cannot blame him for wanting to look elsewhere now. They apparently picked Leon McQuay III as an early enrollee over Fitts, and Fitts would have to wait until June to come to campus.

“I’ve been committed for almost a year now, and it’s been hard for me,” Fitts said. “The fact that this is happening so late in the process, it’s hard to find a college. My parents and I will meet with my head coach and come up with a good game plan of what colleges I’m interested in.”

Fitts is actually visiting UCLA, where his brother goes, today; he may end up being a Bruin instead of a Trojan. Too bad USC did not plan his recruitment a bit better, because he probably won’t be there next year.
