The last time they were on the field was not so memorable. Notre Dame Fighting Irish stars Mike Golic Jr. and Robby Toma got another chance to make an impact last Saturday at the 2013 Raycom College Football All-Star Classic in Montgomery, Alabama.

Golic had a solid season at center for the Irish working his way into the starting lineup the previous season.  Golic was an important part of an Fighting Irish ground game, opening holes for running backs Theo Riddick and Cierre Wood. Although there work goes unnoticed offensive lineman are an integral part to an offense. Ask Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler how important an offensive lineman is to his offense.

Back to Golic, who is happy to be back on the field and ready to show NFL scouts what he can bring to their team. Golic has football in his blood and his family has great tradition at Notre Dame and in the NFL. Golic was solid for the Irish and had another good performance in Alabama. Next for Golic is continuing to prepare for the NFL Draft and after the season he had he would be a great addition to an NFL roster.

Toma had a solid career at Notre Dame as well and he too looks to make an impact on an NFL roster.

This season, Toma  had a number of highlights for the Irish. During the home opener against Purdue, Notre Dame found themselves tied going into the final minutes of the game. Tommy Rees took the field in relief of an injured Everett Golson and things did not look so good for the Irish.

On 2nd and 10 from the Purdue 41, Toma worked away to be open what would have been a Notre Dame first down, however Rees never saw the shifty Toma and brought up third down. On third down, Toma worked hard once again to come back to the ball ad bail out his quarterback. This time Rees found his target and after a making a tackler miss Toma raced up the sideline for a 21-yard gain helping set up the game winning field goal.

That was one of many highlights Toma had throughout his four year Notre Dame career. Toma finished with 60 catches for 667 yards. Toma was very versatile working out of the slot as well as out wide as a  receiver. Toma was also part of the Irish rushing attack this season. He came up with a huge touchdown in the Oklahoma game, finishing the season with an average of seven yards per carry.

Toma was able to give a demonstration of his skills as he broke free and had a 54-yard reception during the 2013 Raycom College Football All-Star Classic .

Both Toma and Golic had good careers at Notre Dame and their hard work and determination while will playing for the Irish has shown as they both improved throughout their college careers and soon to be professional careers.
