Alabama Crimson Tide Land Inside Linebacker Reuben Foster
After clinching their third National Championship in four seasons, expectations will be high once again for the Alabama Crimson Tide heading into the 2013 season. Nick Saban and company have always been known for their strong defense, the Crimson Tide received one of the top recruits this week by receiving a commitment from inside linebacker Reuben Foster.
Believe it or not, Foster was going back and forth about whether he should choose Alabama or the Auburn Tigers, but in the end–it was clear the Crimson Tide woud be his top choice as he joins a team looking to make another run at the National Championship. Foster currently ranks No. 16 on the ESPN 150–so this was obviously a huge pickup for the Crimson Tide.
Moves like these are just one of the many reasons why Alabama always ranks near the top of the recruiting class each season and with the way things are playing out–all signs point to them entering the 2013 season ranked No. 1 in the country. There’s no telling what to expect from Foster in 2013, but this was certainly one of those moves that should pay off big time for the Crimson Tide considering he’s one of the top in-state recruits.
Of course, as much of a great signing as this was for Alabama, it’s still difficult to ignore the fact that Foster did get an Auburn tattoo when it seemed like the Tigers would end up being his school–so there’s a good chance his teammates will never let him live that down.
