We are just a few hours away from West Virginia Mountaineers Head Coach Dana Holgorsen’s signing day press conference.

One would have to think he will be pleased with what he has accomplished thus far on signing day. The Mountaineers have stolen a number of prospects who had solid verbals to other schools, as well as made some of its own solid verbals official.

As we approach the middle of signing day here is a list of the Mountaineers’ commitments, courtesy of WVU Sports Buzz.

It is safe to say WVU has accomplished one if its goals by targeting and signing defensive recruits. The big story that Mountaineer fans, coaches and players are waiting on, is the commitment of solid verbal Shelton Gibson.

In the past few hours, among the Mountaineers’ notable signees is receiver Ronald Carswell, a three star recruit from junior college. The 6’0, 180 pound receiver will add depth to the Mountaineer bench. West Virginia was his only offer.

Also, punter Nicholas O’Toole, who committed last night has officially sent in his paperwork and will be a Mountaineer in 2013. O’Toole is a nice land for WVU. This JUCO recruit has the potential to develop into an NFL punter.

The Mountaineers have also received a Letter of Intent from Isaac McDonald, a three star linebacker from Florida. WVU has stacked up on linebackers during this recruiting day, and one would have to believe that at least one of these guys will be able to develop into the talent WVU is looking for. At the very least, look for these guys to provide a nice compliment to Isaiah Bruce and the current WVU line backing core.
