West Virginia Mountaineers Continue to Land Defensive Recruits
The West Virginia Mountaineers have landed yet another strong defensive recruit. This time, the recruit is Marvin Gross, an incredibly underrated three star defensive end from Baltimore.
He is 6’4, 225 pounds and should greatly help a struggling defense in 2013. Gross has a knack for rushing and sacking quarterbacks, recording an unbelievable 52 sacks in two years in high school.
Gross should be expected to develop into a defensive star one day for the Mountaineers.
Another big flip has benefited the Mountaineers. Brandon Golson, a three-star outside linebacker has signed his LOI with the Mountaineers. Golson was a verbal commit to the South Carolina Gamecocks, but flipped to the Mountaineers, most likely due to the signing of Mario Alford who said he thought Golson was coming with him.
Any time a school can land a recruit it wasn’t expecting to have it is a good thing. The Mountaineers are slowly becoming spoiled by this great signing day.
The man whose decision everyone is waiting on is the four star receiver in Shelton Gibson. Gibson gave a solid verbal to WVU but is still leaving the door open for the Tennessee Volunteers as well. If the Mountaineers land Gibson, this recruiting class will be pushed ove the top.
If Gibson signs, there’s a chance for Tyler Boyd, another hyped receiver to join him, which would be incredible for the Mountaineers.
