College Football Recruiting: Meet The 2013 Oregon Ducks Signing Class (Video)
The Oregon Ducks had a great day signing one of the best college football recruiting classes in the country. Overall, the Ducks got 19 commitments from 18 high school standouts plus a junior college transfer, to give Mark Helfrich a strong class just three weeks into his first stint as a head coach. The University of Oregon, excited about their new students, created a video with highlights of each recruit signed to properly introduce Ducks’ fans to their newest players.
It’s a little long at nearly 22 minutes, but worth a watch for anyone interested in the future of Ducks’ football. So how do they look? Pretty impressive and many will make huge contributions during their time in Eugene.
But just how big will they be? Will Torrodney Prevot steal the show in this class and step in to replace or even surpass Dion Jordan? Is Devon Allen going to be a star at wide receiver with Helfrich’s expanded passing game? Can Thomas Tyner become the next great Ducks running back? Does Oregon finally have a kicker in Matt Wogan they can rely on to get three points on a regular basis?
There’s plenty to be excited about in this class as Oregon reloads to begin the Mark Helfrich era in Eugene following Chip Kelly‘s departure to the NFL. These players will be the foundation for Helfrich and go a long way in determining if the new head coach can maintain the level of success the Ducks have enjoyed over the last four seasons.
The Oregon football team’s motto is “Win the Day,” and they certainly enjoyed a win yesterday. Will it translate, however, into winning on Saturdays next fall?
