Michigan Signee Declares Undying Love for Ohio State

The Michigan Wolverines had one of the top recruiting classes in the country and the second best in the Big Ten. Wednesday was a big day for the Wolverines’ football program as they signed over 20 recruits to join their squad for the 2013 season.

When you recruit a player, a background is usually uncovered and you get to know the recruit a little better. However, the maize and blue should have done a little more research on three-star cornerback signee Reon Dawson from Ohio.

Dawson didn’t receive an offer from his first love during the recruiting process: Ohio State. The Buckeyes are his first love and, according to Dawson, will be his love until the day he dies.

Dawson told the Dayton Daily News:

“Until I die, I’m gonna be a Buckeye fan, even though I’m going (to Michigan). When we play (OSU), I’m gonna still bring my ‘A’ game. But I love Ohio State.”

Brady Hoke may want to reconsider the cornerback commitment as Ohio State is one of the Wolverines’ most hated rivals. This could be one of the most controversial singings of all time as Dawson is obviously upset that the Buckeyes didn’t offer the Ohio-native a scholarship because they were too busy recruiting four and five stars thanks to the genius of Urban Meyer.

This is one of the most legendary rivalries of all-time, but Dawson may be confused about the whole ‘rivalry’ thing. Not many rivals go to their arch-enemy’s program. If he was a true Ohio State fan, he would have chosen one of his other school offers or maybe, as crazy as it sounds, walk on to Ohio State and earn a scholarship.
