Georgia Bulldogs Biggest Recruiting Enemy: It’s Own Fans

Paul Abell-USA TODAY Sports — Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Just to warn all the Georgia Bulldogs fans out there…

The next few minutes are going to be a little rough and it’s going to hurt, but it is something that needs to be said…

Despite having one of the best Recruiting Classes in the nation from National Signing Day, the majority of Bulldog fans are beside themselves and disgusted in the poor performance on Wednesday.

And the word disgusted is an understatement…

Fans all over took to Twitter and Facebook searching out the Georgia boys who chose to go elsewhere to play their College Football. And what they had to say to them was down right troubling and sad on so many different levels.

So Georgia fans as you sit today and sulk about not getting Robert Nkemdiche, who for the record you never had a shot at because of his brother and the fact UGA doesn’t have a Residency Program for his day, or Montravious Adams take a few minutes to ponder the true reason why the Dawgs missed out on every Five Star Recruit in the state.

Who is this culprit that is tearing down the glorious game Between the Hedges? Is it the departure of Rodney Garner to the Auburn Tigers? Was it the fact Todd Grantham had his mind in the NFL instead of the recruiting trail?

Nope…

Stand up Georgia fans, walk in the bathroom and look in the mirror. Because the person looking back at you is public enemy number one…

(and let the cussing and name calling begin in 3… 2… 1…)

Don’t take this the wrong way. There is no better state in the entire country than Georgia and the University of Georgia is one of the best institutions and athletic programs in the entire nation. But a majority of its fans have been sliding down the delusional psychotic slide to Hell over the past 10 years.

Now have you reached the point of one Harvey Updyke Jr. and the crazy love he has for the Alabama Crimson Tide?

Nope…

But you are getting close…

In the past year you have the glory that was the public verbal crucifixion of Aaron Murray and the egging of his house. You also have the down right vulgar things you say toward Mark Richt, Mike Bobo and the coaching staff.

And you have this gem sent on Facebook to Laremy Tunsil who ended up signing with the Ole Miss Rebels

“RELATIONSHIPS? UGA RECRUITED YOU 4 2 YEARS! HAVE FUN LOSING AT OLE MISS AND FINISHING 4TH EVERY YEAR…BREAK A LEG…NO REALLY BREAK YOUR LEG”

“I don’t like it one bit M Shannon Smallwood! Tunsil didn’t just change his mind. He led UGA on until the bitter end when it was too late to recruit other real talent. He had given a STRONG verbal, not a maybe. The word ‘commitment’ means ‘doubtful’ these days!”

Yeah…

Everyone knows the few rotten apples ruin the whole bunch, right?

But, as a Georgia Fan, you can argue all you want that this is just a couple of poor fans and what they say doesn’t represent the stance of the true fans. Listen to this loud and clear. Kids want to go to a place they have a chance to win and a place where everyone loves them good or bad. And no matter what the reality is with Georgia fans, the perception is not a good one. Athens, Georgia is a place where your property can get destroyed and fans line up to curse you out.

Again…

Perception folks…

And you can bet your bottom dollar every team recruiting against Georgia is painting its fans as irrational and nasty or they all are Honey Boo Boo relatives like this guy…

So before you take to the chat boards today Georgia Nation, take a good look in the mirror. If you want a National Title its about time you start acting like elite, classy and humble fans…

After all, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets do have more National Championships than you do…

Perception folks…

Perception…
