LSU Head Coach Les Miles is a Must Follow on Twitter
Move over Charles Barkley and make room for “The Mad Hatter.”
LSU just wrapped up one of the best recruiting classes in school history and Miles celebrated by tweeting up a storm during Sunday’s NBA action and was in attendance for the Los Angeles Lakers game vs. the Miami Heat and Miles offered up insight that you wouldn’t come to expect from him or any other college football coach for that matter.
Some of the best tweets from Miles include:
If you’ve ever been to Death Valley before, then you know Miles is familiar opponents having to deal with a tough environment.
Sure, LeBron James is the star, but recognizing that Dwyane Wade needs to step it up with the MVP on the bench is something that could be the difference between winning back-to-back titles and a playoff ouster.
I had no idea Miles was such a fan of ball movement either, but that’s a real NBA fan that can appreciate that art of the game.
What a treat indeed, if you didn’t follow Miles before today, then you need to hit that follow button and follow the stream of consciousness that emits from the brain of Coach Miles, because he’s one of the best sports personalities around.
Now I know LSU fans need to worry about him leaving Baton Rouge and joining TNT’s Inside the NBA crew or ESPN’s NBA Countdown, but his tweets during the NBA action this afternoon offered a glimpse into Miles’ personality away from the gridiron.
I wish more coaches were like Miles and used the social media platform to offer their thoughts and insights to other sports, especially now that National Signing Day has passed and spring practice is still three-four weeks away.
Miles has a 113-42 career record and has guided his teams to three BCS bowl games including winning the 2007 BCS National Championship Game and appearing in the 2011 title game, and finished either first or second in the SEC West seven of his eight years at LSU.
