University of Georgia Linebacker, Alec Ogletree Arrested for DUI
It’s being reported that highly touted University of Georgia Bulldogs linebacker Alec Ogletree was cited and arrested for a DUI earlier this week. Ogletree’s agent, Pat Dye said: “Last weekend, my client Alec Ogletree was pulled over for speeding and a lane violation in Arizona, after the officers smelled alcohol, they conducted tests and also cited him for DUI. Although Alec regrets this incident terribly, he is thankful that there was no accident and that no one was hurt. Because this matter is still pending, we cannot comment further publicly at this time.”
Before this incident, Ogletree was considered to be the top inside linebacker prospect especially after Manti Te’o fell due to the infamous hoax that has been all over television and it’s been the butt of a lot of jokes from seemingly everyone. Regardless of what happens to Ogletree, this week at the scouting combine, he’ll have a lot of explaining to do to team scouts, and other members of their front offices during interviews. ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. just recently had in his mock draft that Ogletree to go eighth overall to the Buffalo Bills, since the Bills are usually big on high character guys, this might take Ogletree off of their draft board for at least for the first round if not at all, especially since this isn’t the first incident he’s had as he failed a drug test in 2011 during the spring practice which won’t help him either come April for the NFL Draft.
