Top Five People Ruining College Football

open
Marvin Gentry-USA TODAY Sports

It’s pretty safe to say College Football is entering its Golden Age...

Think about it...

Is there anytime in the history of the collegiate game when the popularity has been this high and, despite the economy, is making record profits year in and year out. The highest ticket price EVER for a BCS National Title Game was the little game between a pair of old stalwarts in the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish a few weeks ago.

But, as history tells us, all dynasties at some point come to an ugly crashing halt..

Yes, no matter how great the leadership or how perfect and pro-active of a master plan might be in place, some thing ends up bringing it all to a crashing halt. And, in most cases, the thing that poisons the perfection is literally the straw that goes unattended on the camel’s back because it is simply not worthy of the time and attention of the mighty leaders to deal with. That is until it’s too late where nothing can be done.

Well, with that thought in mind, there are a number of people and things the size of a mustard seed who are blowing in the wind, growing stronger and bigger each day waiting for the right time to take down the game everyone loves

Now, it is true that some issues need to be addressed, but the people on this list are going about it in the wrong way. These are a group of power-hungry, agenda-driven, demented and confused people who believe they are the end all, be all experts on all things.

The following are the Anti-Christs of everything in College Football...

They are simply The Five People Who are Ruining College Football...

And no folks, Nick Saban did not make the list...

No. 5 - President Barack Obama

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

That’s right folks...

When trouble is coming, let’s just blame it on the President of the United States, right? For most everyone that is the truth, but in this case there is a lot of facts to back it up.

Let this simmer for a second before you go off. If you think about this Barack Obama and all politicians are one of the biggest threats to sports as everyone knows it.

The more concussions that happen, a death here, a death there or liberal whining about something will continue to peak the interest of the government. But the real area for concern is the state funded schools not-for-profit Athletic Foundations. As the booster clubs continue to make more money, record amounts of money, Obama and the politicians, Democrat or Republican will find a way to take control.

It’s a scary fact and one that no matter what your political party is you need to prepare for and speak out against any government involvement of any kind in College Football or any athletics of any kind on any level.

Government control of the game will destroy it within years...

Everything the government touches or control dies...

That’s a fact and you can check it with your history books...

No. 4 - Roger Goodell

Robert Deutche-USA TODAY Sports

There is no doubt College Football knows its place when it comes to the NFL.

Despite the level of play and the popularity of the college game, the machine that is the National Football League is one the NCAA can never, ever try to have a power struggle with.

And, unfortunately, Roger Goodell knows this and bit by bit each year attempts to do something in the NFL that forces the college game and all below it to conform for the “Greater Good”...

When Goodell speaks of taking away kickoffs, enforcing specific equipment changes or having a team in London, England, he just isn't just giving sound bytes for the camera. Much like Barack Obama, everything Goodell says is orchestrated with a purpose and a timeline for implementation that has already started.

The NFL was only a Sunday and Monday sport at one point (for all the kids out there who are too young to remember otherwise). Then it was a Saturday sport after College Football came to an end. Then it became a Thursday game. We have even seen it on Tuesday and Wednesday too...

In other words, besides being the minor league system for the NFL, Goodell could care less about the rules that are made in the pro game and how it affects college, high school or recreation leagues.

So listen closely when Goodell speaks about the NFL...

And don’t trust his smile one bit...

No. 3 - Phil Knight

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

There is no one man who has more control of all of College Athletics, especially College Football, than Phil Knight.

Yes, the man behind Nike and his net worth of nearly $7 billion (yes... BILLION) has a stake in just about every Athletic Department in the entire NCAA.

And the more you think about it, that is a scary monopoly for just one man...

Everyone knows his ties with the Oregon Ducks over the past 30+ years, but folks don’t think about all the Nike logos attached to teams and players in the NCAA.

And a man with that kind of power can get whatever he wants...

Don’t believe it...

What ever happened to that scandal with the Ducks?

No. 2 - Parents

2
Matt Cashore-USA TODAY Sports

Yes, parents...

Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of great and supportive parents out there who understand where athletics fall in the scheme of their faith and the world...

But more and more each day, the bad apples in the bunch are ruining more and more of the game of College Football.

Everyone knows the crazy parents are some of the worst! If you don't know the crazy parent, then you might want to pay close attention below...

You can divide the bad parents into three categories...

The first is the Deadbeat Dad (or mom, especially Alex Collins mom). This is the parent who leaves the kid without any structure in their life until its time for them to get their first paycheck. It is a fact kids from a two-parent, stable home are more successful in their lives. And College Football is filled with a bunch of superior athletes who are mentally, socially and spiritually challenged on every level. And those players can excel on the field but usually fail with epic proportions off the gridiron. (the biggest problem facing our society today is teenage pregnancy, abortion and young, single parents)

The second parent ruining the game is the Pansy Parent. Yes, these are the folks that wants everyone to get a trophy and wants no losers. The want Johnny to run around have fun and enjoy his pizza after the game. These idiots are helping create a society of young men (and women) that feels entitled to everything without earning anything. They have been told they are great and a winner without the experience of failure until they are on the biggest of stages in their life. Ryan Leaf probably had Pansy Parents. It is ruining our society and the game.

The third and final sorry parent is the Field of Dreams Fool. This is the dad or (mom) who didn’t quite make it to the big show and is Hell bent on making sure their kid is their meal ticket to fame. They are the ones who ask their son to go for the knockout hit in church league pee-wee football. It is the parent who focuses way too much on the wins and losses and the one who gets lost in the results rather than the joy of the process. And they are the ones that create the monsters that roam the field that ruin the game a little more every year.

So parents remember, there is a greater chances of a pack of rabbits breaking down your door right now and mauling you to death than you or your kid making it in College Football or to any level of the NFL.

Do the right thing...

Don’t be an idiot...

You’re ruining society and the game...

No. 1 - Jim Delany

1
Jerry Lai-USA TODAY Sports

That’s right folks...

Jim Delany...

The devil that is the leader of the Big 10 will do anything and everything to make sure his conference is dominate in the game. Delany's obsession has the Maryland Terrapins and the ACC battling over money and pride.

If Delany, who is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, is willing to sell his soul to lure a founding member of the ACC over to the Big 10, he is willing to do anything to try and surpass the SEC. He will not rest until the ACC is his and he has the most powerful group of College Football and College Basketball teams at his disposal.

It is an unhealthy obsession and one that could bring the NCAA to its knees if all of his dreams come true. Delany wants total control and believes that only comes with power in numbers.

Nothing will ruin the game quicker than the Big 12 or the ACC being dissolved and absorbed into Delany’s Big 10.

A man in his position with his plan is more terrifying than anyone ever in the history of the game...
