Keith Marshall, Todd Gurley Can’t Manscape for the Greater Good

Daniel Shirey-USA TODAY Sports

Alright Georgia Bulldogs fans, you might want to sit down for you read this one cause there it has some terrible news that will follow.

It seems that Keith Marshall and Todd Gurley were kicked off the team today…

Yes…

The tandem known as Gurshall around Athens, Georgia will not be running anymore for the Dawgs.

(the sound of silence, sobbing and the multitudes of keyboards typing into Google to search for the story)

Well, you are not going to find it anywhere else but here first of all…

And don’t get too upset because the only team Marshall and Gurley will not be allowed to compete for at this moment at Georgia is the Men’s Track Team.

(boy, if you could only see your faces right now…)

Yes, the College Football world will get to see the sophomore season of both of these talented young men in 2013. But that cannot be said for the fans of Track and Field as both Marshall and Gurley refused to cut their dreadlocks thus violating the team rule for hair length ultimately dismissing them from the team.

To be honest, they probably got dismissed because they beat all the scholarship runners with their shaved heads by two full seconds in the 100 yard dash. And everyone knows you can’t mess with the fragile psyche that is a track athlete’s head. Can’t you just see all of them showing up for day two of practice with a wig of dreads trying to improve their skill?

Anyway, the jury is still out on how long both Marshall and Gurley will be “kicked-off” the track team. As with all sports, if Georgia loses a couple of meets, don’t be surprised to see the dynamic duo back on the track.

But all this got this crazy sports guy thinking…

(yeah… you should be scared)

At what point do we as men have to manscape for the greater good? If a guy can run a 4.3 40-yard dash with a 10 pound head of hair, more power to him.

Personally, I am all for a good grooming and I love me a good pedicure (don’t judge until you have one… or 100… it makes me feel fancy). As with most guys, if you have a great woman in your life you would do just about anything she asks of you. Anything…

So maybe the coaches need to present this topic of team hair in a different fashion. Maybe they should go to the ladies in Marshall’s and Gurley’s life and get them to work their magic. Bet you 100 bucks if they go that route, these two guys would show up slicked down from head to toe and wearing pink track shoes if their ladies wanted it to be that way.

You know who embraced this message? This guy…

Just a thought…

So keep your eyes on what becomes of your track team at the University of Georgia over the next few weeks…

Because if Marshall and Gurley still won’t manscape for the greater good, it could be a long season…
