Mike Gundy Hires The Subject Of His Infamous Press Conference Rant

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

All of us remember the infamous video that featured Oklahoma State Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy screaming at reporters, “I’m a man! I’m 40!” The video has lived on since 2007, and even teeny-boppers recognized it because it was apparently Justin Bieber’s ringtone.

Well, in said video, Gundy was defending then-quarterback, Bobby Reid. He lost his job to Zac Robinson, and an Oklahoma newspaper wrote an article thrashing Reid. Gundy went off in a post-game presser, and the rest is viral-video history.

Later on, when Reid was asked about Gundy’s outburst, he said he felt it was all a show and nothing about it was genuine. Fast forward to 2013: Gundy and Reid have worked out their misunderstandings, and now Reid is employed by Gundy.

Apparently, Reid has been brought on staff for the Cowboys football team in a yet-to-be announced position. The position is said to be non-coaching.

Reid redshirted in 2004 then played half a season in 2005, until he suffered a season ending injury. He played for the Pokes until 2007 and started 18 during his time there. He transferred out to Texas Southern when he lost his starting spot to Robinson. Reid participated in several NFL Pro Days, in 2009 at the University of Texas – Arlington and another at LSU in 2010. In 2011, he was picked up by an Arena Football Team, the Tulsa Talons.

The news of Gundy bringing on Reid isn’t really one of that much importance, but it gives us all an excuse to watch one of the best videos of all time. Again.
