Drake Harris has been quite the show in the past few months.
In November, he became the first player in the nation to accumulate over 2,000 receiving yards. In December, he looked like a strong commit to Michigan State as he said that he would not decommit from the school he gave his word to. In February, he had accumulated a wealth of scholarship offers from the nations top schools and finally, he decommitted from Michigan State in March.
He made a name for himself on a national level because of his dynamic receiving ability and also made a name for himself because he turned into a soap opera with his antics.
It’s one thing to respectfully decommit from a school and say that you just didn’t feel like it was a good fit for you, but it’s another thing to completely disrespect that school and say you couldn’t play there because you wanted to win a title. If that’s not a slap in the face to Mark Dantonio and his program, then I don’t know what is.
All past aside, Harris is one of the top recruits in the nation and he has finally been rewarded for it. According to a few major recruiting sites like 247Sports, the high school junior has been upgraded from four-star recruit to a five-star.
Michigan State is surely upset that Harris got away, but the recruiting trail on this kid is far from over. Schools like Michigan, Ohio State, Alabama and Oregon have jumped into the mix and could be possible destinations for this future stud collegiate receiver.
