Michigan and Ohio State are no strangers to competing on the field, which is one reason why the make up one of the best rivalries in the country. The two Big Ten programs are also quite familiar with competing with recruits on the recruiting trail, and the latest recruit the two are competing over is Jabrill Peppers (Paramus, NJ. Paramus Catholic) who will visit both schools next week.
Peppers has had coaches visit from both of the Big Ten powers before , but this will be his first unofficial visit since he visited Penn State Feb. 20. He will be at Ohio State and Michigan for two days apiece, with Michigan getting Peppers first on Apr. 3.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Peppers is ranked by 247Sports.com as the top athlete in the class of 2014, and could potentially play on both sides of the ball in college. He has the ability to be a safety on defense or a wide receiver or running back on offense. Maybe Michigan will try and sell him on being the next Charles Woodson?
But, Ohio State and Michigan will be the first two spring visits for Peppers, which is a good indication where his heart lies at the moment, and if the battles on the field are any indication, this one won’t be decided until late.
