Mike Gundy Should Make Up His Mind With Oklahoma State Cowboys’ Starting QB Position

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

There are times where indecision can be a good thing and times where it is the worst thing that can happen. Oklahoma State Cowboys coach Mike Gundy would fall into the category of worst thing as he can’t make up his mind on who will be his starting quarterback this coming season. It appears that Clint Chelf has the inside track right now over J.W. Walsh and Wes Lunt but Gundy needs to just come out and make a decision.

There is no reason at all to wait until fall to decide on this. You got three great quarterbacks there with the Cowboys obviously but if Gundy wants to go with Chelf, he should just do it. It would be best for the program and everyone there to just pick one and go with it. There were a lot of injuries last season so all three got a lot of playing time. Chelf was the man who started the season however so I think Gundy is partial to him and letting him have the starting job.

There is nothing wrong with doing that as long as you don’t wait to decide when you are going to announce it. I’m sure he will say that it is still an open competition and he wants to wait until fall practice begins to name a starter. I would prefer knowing who the starter is as soon as possible so I could prepare for my new role instead of the indecision of it.

Oklahoma State is going to be one of the best teams in the country no matter what this year, but Gundy’s indecision is just a big waste of time.
