Ole Miss Working to Flip Georgia Commit Nick Glass
Ole Miss is going to be hosting four-star safety and longtime Georgia commit Nick Glass (Atlanta, Ga. Peachtree Ridge) for the second time this spring on Jun. 7 as first reported by Webb Lewis of Rebels247.com.
Glass committed to Georgia in April of 2012 but has not seen his recruitment slow down in the least picking up nearly half of his 26 offers after he committed to Mark Richt and the Bulldogs. Perhaps Glass is feeling he committed too early and wants to see what is out there for him by exploring his options which I think is a very wise move.
The 6-2, 205-pound safety could flip to the Rebels if his visit goes as well as others from Georgia visiting Oxford, Mississippi have in the past year. “It wouldn’t surprise anyone if Glass switched to another college this summer,” Michael Carvell of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution wrote. Ole Miss had a tremendous amount of success in the Peach State last year plucking five from the state including top recruit Robert Nkemdiche.
The potential addition of Glass would give the Rebels more depth in the defensive backfield which is a point of concern after last season’s struggles defending the pass. Incoming freshman Tony Conner will help alleviate some of those concerns as will four-star commit C.J. Hampton (Meridian, Miss. Meridian) and three-star Ronald Walker (Jackson, Miss. Callaway).
Visiting recruits to Ole Miss have found it awfully inviting, and envisioning playing for Hugh Freeze the next four years to be a part of the resurgence of the Rebels program could be enough for Glass to flip his commitment.
I think he’ll be a Rebel.
