You know what one of the great things about sports is? Timing. Sometimes, some things just happen at the perfect time. Now, this statement not only pertains to the athletes and coaches on the field of play, but also can benefit those of us that vehemently pound away at our keyboards to bring you our take on situations involving the world of sport–such as myself, for example.
Earlier this week, I had introduced many to the wonderful social media habits of Florida State Seminoles tight ends coach/recruiting coordinator, Tim Brewster. Well, today he publicly made another bold statement about his current university. Okay, it was really bold actually.

Now sure, a proclamation like this is not really out of the norm for the way Brewster tackles twitter, for those that are used to him on a daily basis. At first sight, the first thing that dawned on me was the uproar that this was going to cause among the SEC community, particularly the rabid fan base. I figured that’s all that would come out of that, and the whole situation would be forgotten by morning.
Well, I was wrong. First-year Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Bret Bielema, no stranger to creating some public social media controversy himself, saw this and decided to offer his rebuttal.

Well, now this is awkward.
Now, it should be noted that while Brewster is quite outspoken, he generally just sells the Florida State brand. Which, as recruiting coordinator, is kind of his job.
Someone may want to remind Coach Bielema that it’s the same FSU brand that dealt him a 42-13 whipping in the 2008 Champs Sports Bowl.
