Well, while last night we were enlightened to the possibility that Florida State Seminoles signee, and 5-star LB, Matthew Thomas may be interested in fulfilling some southern California aspirations as opposed to honoring his Tallahassee commitment, it seems that things have taken yet another turn. Although this time, it may be the last turn that this long, drawn out saga will take.
In speaking to Florida State recruiting site Warchant, Thomas made it known that he will indeed be staying in the state of Florida to begin what many anticipate to be a very successful football career.

This revelation is certainly a breath of fresh air to many, especially the Florida State faithful. From the moment last month that Thomas made his intentions public of possibly wanting to explore his options elsewhere rather than honor his February 6 commitment, some of the resulting possibilities were not good.
Some called for Jimbo Fisher and the FSU staff to simply release Thomas from his LOI, essentially making the young man a free-agent. It would have been an unprecedented event that would not have bode well for future situations similar to this one. The subsequent domino effect coming from something like that would have been horrific.
Thomas will report to the team on Saturday and begin preparations for his freshman season in Tally.
