Cincinnati Bearcats Have Chance to Go Undefeated
It may be over two months until the 2013 college football season gets underway but it is never too early for fans to look at their favorite team’s schedule. If you are a fan of the Cincinnati Bearcats, you take a look at this year’s schedule and see the potential for something special to happen. I think that the Bearcats could go into the final game of the regular season with an undefeated record.
Cincinnati plays their first seven games against teams that had losing records in 2012 before facing SMU on Nov. 9 and Rutgers the following week. The game against Rutgers is on the road, however, so that is where the team could slip up in their quest to make it to a Dec. 5 meeting with Louisville at home. That game could easily decide the American Athletic Conference champion. It is a lofty goal obviously, and even if the Bearcats go undefeated, the BCS gauntlet would await.
The only way that becomes a discussion, though, is if Cincinnati does goes 12-0 in the regular season. Tommy Tuberville has taken over as the team’s new head coach and is faced with the expectations that this team has on them now with such a weak schedule. It will be a definite disappointment if the Bearcats don’t win at least nine games in the regular season when there are just three teams on the schedule who had winning records in 2012. There will be time over the next several months to see if Cincinnati has the ability to pull off such a great season.
