Four-Star DB Trey Marshall Wows At SPARQ Testing Two Days Before Announcing Decision
On Wednesday, highly coveted, four-star (according to 247Sports) rated DB Trey Marshall will officially announce where he intends to play his college football come 2014. The anticipated announcement, which pits the Florida State Seminoles against the Ole Miss Rebels, is going to be one of the highlights to come out of this year’s ‘The Opening’ camp, which kicked off yesterday and runs through Wednesday.
Monday, Marshall showed us all that announcing where he will be heading won’t be the only memorable moment he provides while at the camp. The Lake City, FL native took part in the SPARQ testing Monday and when it came time for the 40-yard dash, the statement of the day was made.
With Florida State linebacker commit Kain Daub excitedly greeting him at the finish line, Marshall put up a jaw-dropping 4.34 performance in his second attempt Monday evening. The morning session saw him complete a 4.55 run. Marshall admitted that that was undoubtedly the best time he has ever registered in a 40 attempt.
It was the ultimate teaser performance for the ‘Noles and the Rebels to witness as they impatiently wait until Wednesday to find out if they will get a chance to develop the freakish athlete into one of the premiere defensive players in college football.
The defensive back has known his decision for quite some time, and is purposely waiting until he finishes the camp to announce his decision. It will be announced live on ESPNU Wednesday evening.
Either way, either Jimbo Fisher or Hugh Freeze is going to get one of the fastest human beings in the entire world to play with. And considering both men’s success in recruiting lately, that’s like giving a pyromaniac a fist-full of dynamite–DANGEROUS!
