Tennessee Volunteers head coach Butch Jones has already impressed his new team’s fan base since his hire last December. Despite not yet having coached a single down, Jones has left Vols fans optimistic of the future with an impressive introductory press conference and the No. 1 recruiting class for 2014, according to Rivals.com.
It seems as though every move Jones has made since his hire has impressed Vols fans more and more. When he was introduced to the media, he confessed his love and admiration for the program, calling his new job his “dream job”.
SEC Media Days will be a major opportunity for Jones to once again create optimism for the rebuilding Volunteer football program. Jones has been a master of recruiting and using every tactic to his advantage.
SEC Media Days are a great opportunity for a coach to sell his program to recruits. Jones will be showcased in front of many media outlets basically selling players on the value of the Tennessee football program.
It’s no secret that Jones is a master at preaching the pride and history of UT football. He has used twitter and social media as a way to gain attention for the program and further show his plan for a turnaround in Knoxville.
One should expect a great performance by the new Tennessee coach during his first SEC Media Days press conference and throughout the week in Hoover, Ala. As someone who was in attendance during his introductory presser, I can honestly say he sounds sincere when he preaches the gospel of Tennessee football.
Recruits and college football fans will likely have the same reaction that fans and local media had during his first press conference at Neyland Stadium in December. Jones will continue his momentum on the recruiting trail and in the eyes of the Volunteer faithful with an impressive SEC Media Days appearance.
