Florida State Football Recruiting: Markell Pack a Player to Watch for Seminoles

Melina Vastola-USA Today Sports

In his tenure as Florida State Head Football Coach, Jimbo Fisher has never had any problem bringing top talent to Tallahassee. 2014 won’t be any different. The Noles are rated as the No. 1 class according to ESPN.com, No. 2 according to 247sports.com, No. 2 according to Rivals.com, and the No. 4 class according to Scout.com. Look for Fisher and his staff to finish with another top 5 class in 2014, his third top-5 recruiting class out of his four at Florida State. The Noles currently have 23 pledges in their 2014 class.

One of these commits is highly touted wide receiver Markell Pack. Pack is a 6-foot-3, 190 pound speedster from Purvis, Mississippi. Pack’s combination of size and speed is nothing short of elite. He runs 4.37 in the 40 yard dash, which is incredible for any prospect, let alone someone who is 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds.

Even though Pack is verbally committed to Florida State, Ole Miss and Arkansas are still recruiting him very hard. In the end, look for Pack to sign with the Noles. Pack’s primary recruiter at Florida State is Tight Ends Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Tim Brewster. Brewster developed a relationship with Pack during his brief, one-year tenure with Mississippi State.

Pack is one of my players to watch in this 2014 class. He will make a very early impact at Florida State, so expect him to be a full-time starter by his sophomore season in Tallahassee. Pack has all of the necessary tools to be a game-changer at Florida State and could evolve into one of the biggest weapons on the entire team down the road.
