The Florida State Seminoles have an excellent shot to land three five-star running backs in the 2015 cycle. All three of these running backs have Florida ties and all of them have FSU as their leader or co-leader at the moment. With the running back position for the the 2014 class not likely having elite star power but players who will be rock solid contributors at the college level, these three 2015 running backs can take FSU’s rushing game to a stratospheric level once they touch campus. Alright, let’s learn about each one of them.
You really have to begin with Jaques Patrick. The 6-foot-2 200 pound monster has over 40+ offers and is only a rising junior at the high school level. His blend of speed, balance, and explosiveness have captivated fan bases into wanting the stud RB in their 2015 class. FSU really has two things going for them here: They were the first to offer and they have a commitment from his older brother Javonte Seabury. The two have cited it would be “cool” for them to play together in college. Patrick also has an excellent relationship with Coach Jimbo Fisher and has visited FSU multiple times over the years. I’ll say there is a 75 percent chance to land Patrick, with his other likely destinations being Michigan and Florida.
Then you have Jordan Scarlett who is also a five-star running back in his own right. He is a stout runner with sub 4.4 speed who plays in one of the toughest classifications in Florida. Even though he has yet to visit FSU he cites an excellent relationship with Tim Brewster (FSU’s TE coach and Recruiting Coordinator),who is helping the Noles build an early lead for the 2015 stud. He will visit for the FSU - Miami game and rest assured there will be a red carpet awaiting him. I’ll put FSU’s chances at 65 percent currently with the other likely destination being Florida.
Last but certainly not least you have five-star running back Kerryon Johnson who hails from Alabama. The five-star can play running back and safety at the next level but would ultimately prefer running back. An interesting fact about Johnson is that he was born and raised in Tally and the Noles are his favorite team. However, Alabama and Auburn won’t let him leave the state easily and this recruitment will be a dog fight till the end. He has made multiple visits to all three schools and has excellent relationships with each coaching staff. This one will be tough for the Noles to pull out which is why I say there is about a 40 percent shot to get his signature on NSD of FSU.
If the Noles land just two of these studs it would be great, but all three would be the consensus top RB class in the country. They could start a legacy at FSU that could be up there with the likes of Warrick Dunn, Antoine Smith, and hopefully James Wilder Jr. along with many others such as Chris Thompson and Lonnie Pryor (even though he was a FB).
