Ohio is one of those consistently-good MAC teams and with the return of starting quarterback Tyler Tettleton, they will be solid once again in 2013. It's too bad that they have to face one of the nation's top teams so early in the season so they have no time to gel and become an upset specialist.
PREDICTION: Ohio 17, Louisville 35
Eastern Kentucky isn't exactly what you'd call a tough opponent. They used to be an Ohio Valley Conference power, but those days are well in the past and playing Louisville isn't the same type of competition they are used to.
PREDICTION: Eastern Kentucky 0, Louisville 42
Hiring Mark Stoops was the best thing Kentucky could have done this offseason. The Wildcats are coming off an embarrassing 2-10 season and looking forward to playing with a new quarterback behind center. Fans are going to have to be patient and give Stoops some time to develop this program.
PREDICTION: Louisville 52, Kentucky 10
You thought you were going to see a tough game on this schedule. No luck, however, as the Cardinals will be facing yet another cupcake in Florida International. I think it's safe to say they have this one in the bag.
PREDICTION: Florida International 6, Louisville 38
Losing key running backs Matt Brown and Montel Harris will be a tough hurdle for the Temple Owls to leap over, but with a new head coach in place, there could be some unforeseen success in the Owls' future. Not in this game, though.
PREDICTION: Louisville 37, Temple 13
Entering its final season as a member of the American Athletic Conference -- formerly the Big East -- Rutgers will be poised to make some noise in the newly appointed conference. Returning just 10 starters and losing a ton of defensive talent won't help that cause.
PREDICTION: Rutgers 28, Louisville 42
Coming off a 10-win season in C-USA, Central Florida saw its win total grow to levels that it has rarely seen before. The 2013 season will show whether this is a legitimate 10-win team or if the 2012 season was just a fluke. Louisville will prove the latter.
PREDICTION: Central Florida 17, Louisville 37
Playing yet another Florida squad, the Cardinals will take on South Florida to try and extend their record to 8-0 on the 2013 season. This will be yet another tally in the win column as the Bridgewater and the Cardinals look to shred the poor Bulls defense.
PREDICTION: Louisville 49, South Florida 3
Connecticut returns 15 starters from a team that went 5-7 last season and they surely won't improve much. The Huskies are yet another easy game on the Cardinals' schedule and they will lengthen their win-streak in 2013 to nine.
PREDICTION: Louisville 38, UConn 23
Losing their top running back, Charles Sims, could be a devastating blow to the Houston Cougars, but returning starting quarterback David Piland will surely soften that blow. However, the Cardinals will keep on rolling and put their record up to 10-0.
PREDICTION: Houston 28, Louisville 41
Ending their season on three straight road games has to be quite the good feeling for the Cardinals, however, they will look to avoid a let-down against the Memphis Tigers. Too bad the Tigers aren't much improved from their 3-8 team last season.
PREDICTION: Memphis 14, Louisville 49
I couldn't possibly predict the Louisville Cardinals to finish the 2013 season with a perfect 12-0 record, could I? Nope, the Bearcats will be one final test and the pressure of finish the season perfect will catch up to Bridgewater and crew.
PREDICTION: Cincinnati 34, Louisville 31
Louisville finishes the season 11-1 and makes an easy run at a BCS bowl.
