Tennessee Tech vs. Wisconsin: Game Preview With TV Schedule

Wisconsin

Jeff Hanisch-USA TODAY Sports

In yet another cupcake matchup in week two, the Wisconsin Badgers will take on the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles. Wisconsin is coming off a week one victory against Massachusetts in which the Badgers just flat-out dominated the Minutemen, 45-0, in Gary Andersen‘s first game as head coach.

On the other side of things, the Golden Eagles won in dominating fashion as well over Cumberland. The FCS squad will look to be yet another to upset an FBS school, but the Badgers’ offense is just too electric — especially the run game.

As I stated earlier, the rushing attack from the Badgers was just too much for UMass to handle. Wisconsin rushed for nearly 400 yards and had three 100-yard rushers. Who said they were going to miss Montee Ball? Sophomore quarterback Joel Stave solidified his starting job after a slow start, he turned his game up a bit in the second half and finished with 197 yards and two scores.

Tennessee Tech finished their matchup with Cumberland with 505 yards of total offense. However, just like the Badgers, the Golden Eagles yardage came mostly on the ground with 323 rushing yards. They had eight guys who ran the ball multiple times and six of them finished with over 30 yards on the ground. Pretty steady attack.

Wisconsin’s defense is tough by nature. They are members of the Big Ten where defense is usually key and offense comes second. Shutting out UMass and holding them to just 211 yards is a testament to that idea. Tennessee Tech held lowly Cumberland to seven points and under 200 yards total.

Tennessee Tech will be traveling to Wisconsin to take on the Badgers at 12 p.m. EST on Saturday, Sept. 7. The game will be aired on the Big Ten Network.

PREDICTION: Tennessee Tech 3, Wisconsin 34
