The Wisconsin Badgers are one of the favorites to win the Big Ten this season even with a new head coach, Gary Andersen, and new system in place. They have been a complete team this season, scoring and shutting out their first two opponents, leading to a 2-0 record to start the year.
On the other side of the field, the Arizona State Sun Devils are a cool 1-0 with a win against Sacramento State. The offense mustered up 55 points while shutting out the Hornets. The Sun Devils’ run game could use some work while the pass game is off to a great start, leading the team to a 1-0 record.
Wisconsin’s offense has been electric so far this season, scoring 46.5 points per game and averaging over 600 yards of total offense per game. The rushing attack has been one of the best in the nation through two weeks, averaging 390 yards per game while passing for 212 yards per game behind the arm of sophomore Joel Stave.
Arizona State has been solid through the air this season, albeit it has just been one game. Quarterback Taylor Kelly passed for 300 yards and five touchdowns in the team’s first game in week two. The run game is a bit different as no running back rushed for more than 60 yards against Sacramento State.
Defensively, the Wisconsin Badgers are one of the best teams in the nation, allowing just 325 yards of total offense in two games while not allowing a score all season. Arizona State had a solid first game of the season on the defensive side of things, allowing Sacramento State just 167 yards of total offense while causing four turnovers.
Wisconsin will travel to the desert to take on Arizona State at 10:30 p.m. EST on Saturday, Sept. 14. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN.
