Johnny Manziel: Why The Texas A&M QB Will Flourish Against Alabama

Johnny Manziel’s cocky, unapologetic attitude may rub some people the wrong way, but it doesn’t seem to hurt his performance on the field. It may keep him from getting there at times, but when the NCAA and Kevin Sumlin allow him to play, he is going to do things nobody else can do.

Manziel is a special talent and whether you call it cockiness or call it confidence, his attitude is a big factor to his success. Johnny Football has great instincts and doesn’t second-guess himself, nor would he have time to against the level of competition in the SEC.

When Alabama visits College Station, the Crimson Tide defense is going to have their hands full. Saturday’s contest is the most anticipated game of the college football season, and if there are two things the Texas A&M QB loves, it’s the big stage and proving “haters” wrong.  On Saturday, the stage will be huge and with no shortage of people with negative view of him.

Manziel is going to have a big day against Bama. Forget about his decision-making off the field – his decision making between the snap and whistle are going to give the Tide headaches because nobody can improvise like Johnny Football. The big question on Saturday will be whether or not Manziel can out-shoot A.J. McCarron and the Bama offense.

I expect this game to be a barnburner. The Tide also knows how to get points on the board and will be up against a weak A&M defense. Bama has a much better all-around team, but the 12th man should be a big swing in A&M’s favor. Despite being a seven-point underdog, I believe the Aggies are going to take down the Tide for the second straight year.

While others may be a little shaky under the spotlight, Manziel should thrive as a lover of the attention. Not only do I expect A&M to win, but I hope they do. Love him or hate him, Johnny Football brings a ton of excitement to the game.

Whether he plays the hero or the villain, Manziel brings an added element to the every game plays. Most fans are either strongly with him or strongly against him, but either way, he has their full attention. With Manziel and the Aggies on top, his polarizing persona gives people something to root for in one way or the other.
