SEC Football Week Three Game Previews and Picks Against the Spread
Daniel Shirey-USA TODAY Sports

Well, it’s time for Ole Woody Smalls (12-12 so far in 2013) to put a ribbon on the final few games of predictions of everything College Football in the SEC for Week 3.

To recap from three earlier articles posted for the weekend, this sports writer is going with the Alabama Crimson Tide to win but not cover against the Texas A&M Aggies, 33-31, while the Arkansas Razorbacks win and do cover, 52-17, against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles and the Louisville Cardinals put away the Kentucky
and cover, 48-27. You can view the full previews of these articles below.

But in the essence of time here late on a Friday afternoon, the football pickin’ champ that is Woody Smalls wants to make sure you get your bets in before deadline.

Tennessee Volunteers at No. 2 Oregon Ducks (-28)
3:30 p.m. EST – ABC – XM 85 – Sirius 85
The fans of the Tennessee Volunteers honestly believe they are back and that they can go out west and knock off the Oregon Ducks. Ignorance is bliss, right? Well, it is going to be a huge task, especially since the Vols cannot pass the ball right now and haven’t proven they can stop lesser opponents. It is college football and anything can happen, but SEC pride is going to take a hit with one of the weaker conference teams battling a juggernaut. This game started out with the Ducks giving 20 and has ballooned to 28. It doesn’t matter because Oregon wins and covers, 55-13.

Mississippi State Bulldogs at Auburn Tigers (-6)
7 p.m. EST – ESPN2 – XM 201 – Sirius 113
This should simply be an old school, fun SEC Western Division battle between the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Auburn Tigers. Neither team has answered all of their questions and this will be a great test to see who exactly might be one of those bottom teams in the west to scare a few folks. The Tigers started at giving 7.5 but that a moved down to just six as of today. This game, despite being at Auburn, just smells of a field goal victory one way or the other. Mississippi may still have some questions at quarterback while Gus Malzahn is looking for a signature win. So take Auburn winning, but they will not cover, 27-24.

Vanderbilt Commodores at No. 11 South Carolina Gamecocks (-14)
7 p.m. EST – ESPN – XM 91 – Sirius 91
This might be the toughest game of them all to pick this weekend as the Vanderbilt Commodores invade Columbia looking to knock off the South Carolina Gamecocks. Steve Spurrier and his Gamecocks survived this game in the opener last year and James Franklin seemed to prepare well against Spurrier. But one has to think the Old Ball Coach is not going to let his team lose another one. This will be a close game until the fourth with South Carolina winning but will not cover, 37-24.

Kent State Golden Flashes at No. 9 LSU Tigers(-37)
7 p.m. EST – ESPNU – XM 192 – Sirius 92
Should we even discuss this game? Les Miles, whose name has been dragged through the mud this week, is out to prove a few things, especially with either the Tide or the Aggies losing. The LSU Tigers roll, 66-17.

No. 23 Ole Miss Rebels at Texas Longhorns (-2.5)
8 p.m. EST – Longhorn Network – XM 202 – Sirius 117
This is going to be a great way to end the SEC Football slate for the week as one of the up-and-coming programs in the Ole Miss Rebels look to travel into Austin and send a message they have arrived against one of the old giants in the Texas Longhorns. But can the Rebels pull it off? Texas has to have some pride and something left in the tank, and Mack Brown knows he has to win this game. Ole Woody Smalls will say this, though, the winner of this game will probably be the head coach for the Longhorns next season. With that being said, take Texas to win but not to cover on a last-second play, 31-30.
