Bethune-Cookman vs. Florida State: Game Preview With TV Schedule
The Florida State Seminoles have a certain buzz around them that hasn’t been seen in quite some time. This team could be serious national title contenders and maybe one of the most complete teams in the nation. Jimbo Fisher has this team better than in recent memory and the only way to go is up.
On the other side of the field, Bethune-Cookman is one FCS school that has the unfortunate task of trying to take down the Seminoles. However, it won’t be as simple as the team’s first three wins of the season.
Florida State has a freshman superstar quarterback that goes by the name, Jameis Winston. If you haven’t heard of the young gunslinger, then you have been most likely living under a rock because he is setting the college football world on fire. Just how good is he? Well, he has completed 40 of 45 passes for 570 yards and six touchdowns. Yes, he has more touchdowns than incompletions as a freshman quarterback in his first two games of the year. The offense ranks fifth in the nation in points per game with 51.5.
Bethune-Cookman has yet to pass for over 100 yards in a single game this season. With a passing attack that is nearly non-existent and one of the worst in the FCS, that must mean they it has a solid run game right? Well, Anthony Jordan is the only rusher to have gained over 100 yards in a game and he did that just once this year. The offense is not the strong point of this team.
Defensively, the Seminoles have allowed just 255 yards per game to go along with 10 points per game through the first two games. They should have no problem shutting down a poor Bethune-Cookman offense. Cookman’s defense has kept them unbeaten, not having allowed more than 248 yards in a single game this year and allowing just about 10 points per game as well.
Bethine Cookman will travel to Florida State to take on the Seminoles at 6 p.m. EST on Saturday, Sept. 21. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN 3.
PREDICTION: Bethune-Cookman 0, Florida State 45
