15 Bold Predictions For Week 4 of College Football Action

Predictions
Thomas Campbell-USA TODAY Sports

Heading into Week 4 of the college football season, it is time to start seeing title contenders fall. Perennial powerhouses Texas, Florida, USC, Georgia and Notre Dame have already lost a game. Last week, Johnny Manziel put up a Heisman Trophy performance in a loss against the Alabama Crimson Tide. UCLA came back from an 18-point deficit to defeat Nebraska on the road by 20 points.

There have been teams that have looked completely dominant like the Oregon Ducks, Ohio State Buckeyes and Florida State Seminoles. However, Week 4 is when we get into full conference mode and teams that are very familiar with each other play every week. This is the time of year that a lot of upsets happen and ranked teams begin to fall. In power conferences like the SEC and PAC-12, there will be games weekly that have two contenders for the conference titles and perhaps BCS title squaring off.

This is also the time of the year that we see pre-season Heisman hopefuls begin to fade and unknown players step up and shine. Going into last season, Manziel wasn't on anyone's Heisman list, and he ended up winning the award as a freshman. Players like Jameis Winston, A.J. McCarron, Teddy Bridgewater and Marcus Mariota have already stepped into the discussion with Manziel. Over the next few weeks, there will be a handful of players that join these guys and help move their teams closer to a major bowl game.

With so much action happening this week, these 15 things will start shaping the remainder of the college football season.
